The Air Capital of the World.Wichita is home to the corporate headquarters and primary operating location for Cessna Aircraft Company. The city is widely referred to as the "Air Capital of the World" for its dominance in the aviation industry. Our two Wichita facilities employ more than 8,000 people and occupy 1,400-plus square acres. All Cessna Citation jets are built here, with the exception of the Mustang. Our entire Citation fleet is serviced here as well at the Wichita Citation Service Center.
Wichita is the largest city in Kansas, with a metropolitan population of over half a million (U.S. Census Bureau, 2005). From unique museums and art galleries to exciting collegiate and semipro sporting events, the city offers a little something for everyone.
